Shirley K. Y. WONG

Miss Wong is a registered counselling psychology practitioner and registered supervisor of Asian Professional Counselling Association. She obtained Master of Social Sciences in Counselling Psychology at Hong Kong Shue Yan Univeristy, and has studied Play Therapy courses recognized by Association for Play Therapy and courses on H-T-P/T.A.T./Rorschach inkblot test recognized by Asian Professional Counselling Association.

Miss Wong specializes in the mental health and psychological counselling for young children, teenagers, university students and parents, and has been interviewed by RTHK for a TV programme handling cases of children with anxiety. She is committed to nurture talents by providing different training and supervision to the teaching staffs anf counselling workers working in schools or NGOs. She teaches themes including Special Educational Needs, behavioural disorders and emotional disorders counselling, career and life planning counselling, cognitive bahavioural therapy, client-centered approach and narrative therapy. She is devoted in promoting the concept of career and life planning. She hopes to help children, adolescents, parents and teachers understand to career and life planning needs in different life stages through developmental perspective. By organization school workshops, seminars, staff training, research, individual counselling and assessment, Miss Wong would like to help the general public understand the importance of career and life planning, in order to build a fruitful future.

Professional Experience

  • Counselling Psychologist at CRC and provided psychological counselling services and school-based services. The service included: personal growth, child assessment, emotional, social relationship and career counselling to children, SEN students, teenagers and university students.
  • Growth mentor at mainstream schools and provided emotional support to students and assisted in personal growth activities.
  • Project Assistant at Fuk Yuen Group and provided trainings and support to the frontline staff.
