Psychological counselling - For school
  • Preschool / Kindergarten

In traditional Chinese society, parents tend to believe that their children could achieve self-learning themselves. Nowadays, with higher educational levels and awareness of physical and mental health, parents are more concerned with early childhood development, resulting in a growing demand for early childhood education and counselling service. Psychologists see early childhood as a golden stage of physical and mental development, and an important period for fostering autonomy and developing a sense of trust and security. Overlooking this period is likely to miss the opportunity to develop the most suitable education and training policies for children.

  • Primary School

Children in primary school further develop a sense of independence and accomplishment and improve their social and communication skills. They begin to discover their interests and abilities, and express their personalities more clearly. Psychologists believe that students in this period especially need recognition and encouragement from parents and teachers in order to develop a positive self-image to better prepare for adolescence.

  • Secondary School

During the 6 years in secondary school, students will have different kinds of physical, psychological and interpersonal issues related to their academic, personal/social/family and career. Psychologists believe that students in this period need to build up self-concept and self-image, and especially need acceptance and encouragement from parents and teachers, and support and recognition from their peers.

CRC's counselling team offers the following school-based psychological service:

  • Special Educational Needs (SEN) (both mainstream and non-mainstream schools)
